Joe is the Co-Founder of Keller Williams Realty (KWR), the world’s largest real estate franchise by agent count, with over 1,000 offices and 190,000 associates across 60+ countries. With more than 20 years of development experience, he has leveraged this vast network to identify underpriced, off-market land parcels in high-growth corridors.
After earning his real estate license in San Antonio, Joe transferred to UT Austin to pursue one of the university’s first undergraduate real estate degree programs. In 1983, he and partner Gary Keller founded Keller Williams Realty with a bold vision: make agents the brand, not the company. When the S&L crisis of 1986 rocked the Texas market, they doubled down — introducing agent ownership, profit-sharing, and a culture so strong that no one would want to leave.
With world-class training as a rallying cry, Keller Williams grew rapidly through the late 1990s and beyond, becoming the largest privately owned real estate franchise in the world, with over 140,000 agents worldwide.
